Priceless Day on Jordan Report
I was very appreciative to Charles for allowing me to bring my Pastor, Joe Henson, and his three daughters out on Jordan fishing. I've been wanting to take them fishing for over a year and it worked out that we could go today. If I remember right, this was the first time the daughters (Karis, Elissa, & Raena) have been fishing on a boat. The pictures below tell the story of a special day on the water.
Here we are getting ready to hit the water.

Raena is the youngest and she caught the first fish of the day. It was special watching her take a rod and wind in her fish. She was a little bashful at first, but soon surprised all of us. Raena became the delivery lady--bringing minnows and, what shocked all of us, worms. When the day started, she would not touch a worm, but by mid-day, something happened and she was digging in the worm pail and bringing one to those of us that had lost one to a thieving fish.

Elissa is the middle daughter and has a good knack for fishing. Her Father said she was up at 6:00 this morning ready to go fishing. She was my "partner" for the day and I was proud of the way she advanced in her abilities. Her older sister had learned how to cast her own rod, so she asked me several times when she could cast her own rod. I kept telling her just to be patient and getting the feel of the rod in her hand. Around mid-day, I let her make her first cast and the rest is history. Just before we stopped fishing, she cast her on rod out, hooked her fish and brought it into the boat. The smile on her face tells it all.

Karis is the oldest and did quite well. Charles did a lot of tutoring with her and it wasn't long before she was able to fish on her own. She did hook Charles' hat one time and his t-shirt another time, but there were no injuries and was even throwing side-armed before we left.

I love this picture. A pleasant nap on the way home from a wonderful day on the lake.
