I've about had it with this trailer. I love the boat, 2007 Lowe stinger 195......but the trailer is a POS. Dealer said so when I got it, and he was right. I've replaced the axle once.

On way back from Toledo Bend yesterday, blew out tire....south of Mansfield, LA. Took the fender right off, had the license plate bolted to it, and I had to walk back a half mile to get it. It's torn up. Here's the tire. Tore the wiring off, of course, and broke the circuit so now I have no lights either. I limped home on the spare. These are the third set of tires for this trailer..........they are Tow-Master 185/75R13.

I want to end the problems. ST rated tires all show 65 mph top speed rating. I want to get a higher ply tire, 8 ply or 10 ply, Radial, but that requires 14" or 15" tires. I don't know if the wheels I have will work with those, I doubt it. Then I'm sure I'd have to get bigger fenders (have to buy ONE new one, anyway). And I don't know if that would solve the problem.

I've had to get side bunks, then two sets of side rollers, just to get this boat on the trailer without taking 4 tries. Now this..........

Don't know what to do. Not sure of costs. Have thought of just buying a new HD double axle trailer but no clue what that costs, I'm sure too much. Still don't know if that would get me a bigger more HD tire or not.

I need something I can trailer down the road at freeway speeds and not worry.

    Ideas????????????

oh, and P.S........we didn't catch much. Three of us maybe caught 30 per day. It's like fishing the ocean on that lake......and it rained nonstop......

Yep those trailer tires are may pops at best and can tear a fender off when they fail. Get some radials and be the king of the ..... .. King of the road

Axle rating is more important. But ST tires have a purpose..........just can't go over 65 or load them down, and I do both........so I need something else. The debate on ST vs. LT on campers and big trailers will go on forever. I don't know the answer. I do know radials are better, but that's a general rule of thumb.

BlowMasters, BuzzKillers, Greenball Grenades, been there before, never buy another Chinese tire. I've gotten great service from Maxxis ST tires. Cause my whole backyard is full of trailers, what did you end up going with?

    By the way:

Cheng-Shin Rubber Ind. Co.,Ltd. (Maxxis; Chinese: 正新橡膠工業股份有限公司) is the ninth largest tire company in the world. Established in 1967, at the city of Yuanlin, Taiwan, by Luo Jye.

    Overview

At first, Cheng Shin Rubber, operating as Maxxis International, only produced bicycle tires. As the company grew and extended its reach beyond Asia, it expanded into new market segments, producing tire products for a variety of vehicles.

In 2009 Maxxis had worldwide revenue of over $2 billion.[2] Maxxis has operations in Taiwan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, The Netherlands, Japan and Dubai. The company employs 28,000 people, and its products are distributed in approximately 170 countries.[3]

The company recently built a design and testing proving ground in China,[4] and has five other research facilities in Taiwan, China, the United States, and the Netherlands.
