Thread: Thursday and Friday on Oconee

I fished Oconee Thursday and kept 11 nice crappie. The bite was good but the wind finally ran me off the lake. I went back this morning because I believed the weatherman who said the winds would be light and variable. He was half right. The wind was variable. I began the day long lining with no luck. I re-rigged and slow trolled minnows through the timber. I tried the minnows for about and hour and a half and caught nothing but dinks. I gave that up and started long lining again. Once the wind died down the fish began to bite. I caught the first keeper at 11:45 a.m. The afternoon bite was good in spite of all the boats and jet skis. I ended the day with 21 keepers (10 inches or better).
