Default Looking to take my 3 y.o. bream fishing for first time. Suggestions near Baton Rouge?

Looking for somewhere to go to put a few good bream in the boat not too far from BR (couple hrs max). I usually fish Old River (Morganza) but I think the small rise coming this weekend will mess up the fishing (correct me if I'm wrong). Any suggestions?

Wish I could help you out, but I'm in NW LA. Gotta love bream fishing though to get a kid started out with an interest! Hope someone from the area chimes in with some suggestions. Let us know how you do when you go.

Caught a handful of bream at Old River. Water wasn't quite right yet. Ended up throwing them back but the boy had a blast. Wore him and his grandpa out. Definitely going again soon.

3 would be a little young. I would suggest floating a cork off a dock. I have a stocked pond that would be perfect for that, but live near Eunice

He did real good in my dad's boat. I wouldn't take him in a small bateau or something like that but an 18' boat with high sides was comfortable for me to let him walk around between the decks. He's closer to 4. I put a cork on the line of his Spider-Man rod/reel and he had a blast. He's not ready for a hook yet. I was "fishing" when I was his age so I felt he was ready. He did great and will be going again soon.
