Dan what mount did they use for it? If fishing Truman or anywhere in the standing timber/stumps I would suggest adding a Stump Jumper. I'll try and find a picture of mine. They are not cheap but still beats having to replace a transducer. Not sure what a new SI/DI Lowrance ducer cost but my Humminbird one is well over $200.

Here is a couple pics of them. The first should be one for your ducer. Then a couple more pics to see it better.

Here is a couple pics I just took of mine. It is the see style with a steel cage around it. The new style has a molded high resin plastic that is as tough steel that it slips up into to protect it. Jackie is going to change mine out to the new style but have not had time to get it done yet.

I really didn't notice it but I did have one point when it seemed I had a little interference when I hit a little ruff water and I had it on both sides. And I was running up on my top end of speed. My boat will only top out at about 26 to 28 MPH with 2 people in the boat. And with just me in it I will top out about 30 to 31 mph. If I would lighten up the front end compartment and not fill both live wells I could get about 35 mph out of it I think. I normally come in to a cove even if I know the cove with the motor raised a little. That first time of hitting a stump with the prop made a believer out of me.

Now your talking! What do I have to do? I already have the 12 volt supply unit in the house. I purchased it when all of the local Radio Shacks were going out of business.

Jared they just used the mount in the box the standard Lowrance mount. How much for the Stump Jumper? Paula has put me on notice no more boat money!

Well I finally found the LSS-2 HD Transom Transducer on Ebay for $300.00 and that doesn't count the price of the other transducer.

Glad you were impressed with your introduction to SI and all the other things to keep you entertained when the fish are not biting.
By the way I had the neighbors thinking I lived in the boat before I got a power supply for indoors.
