    Default Lowrance HDS 7 Gen 2 Touch Screen - Screen Savers Yes or No?


    Wife purchased me a Lowrance HDS 7 Gen 2 Touch Screen the other night. Having it installed in the morning by a Lowrance Dealership.

    Ok we put plastic screen savers on our smart phones or at least I do. Plus I even on my smart phone put a plastic screen saver on my phone before I put it in a Otter Box so it has 2 of them on it. On my new Verzion tablet Verzion put a glass screen saver on it.

    I talked with the Lowrance dealer doing my install and he was undecided on it. He stated that they had a Lowrance meeting on Wednesday night and half the room was for it and half the room was against it.

    I called Lowrance tech support and they also on the fence about it.

    What do you folks think?

    I have had a 12 touch since they first came out. I don't have anything on it. Just clean the screen every couple of times.

    Any special way to clean it?? Microfiber rag?? Any cleaner used?? I have a new HDS touch 7 also.

    Check owner's manual for acceptable products to clean with. H'bird reccommends windex "vinegar" all surface cleaner.

    50/50 mix of water and isopropyl alcohol and the supplied microfiber cleaning rag.

    I did talk with another tech today and the Lowrance Factory Outlet Store offers screen savers and also cleaning supplies.
