I like that report...I remember the tank battery too Cappy! Some of the pillings are still there, but the water has to b really low to see'm! They still hold fish sometimes too. Still have a lot of nice camps in that area too...Good hunting around there.
    Good fishing to all!!

Deer hunting usta be good and those big red fox squirrels were every where. Working back there I had keys to get to that ole atnk battery and could drive there. Had many a nice picnic on the point there caught many bass against the rocks behind the dock and pylons lots of Sacs around the pylons and close by tree tops. good cat fishing from the point where the grand meets the superior canal. I then worked my way up to Captain and got transfered to venice. But really had a ball back in the 70s and early 80s working the upper basin.

    Cappy:
The store is on the left side of the building and a smoke free bar is on the right side. They have steak night on Thursdays but they're so, so. Jo-Jo's in Lobdell are much better and bigger. There's no live bait there, only a small selection of jigs, etc. If you want live, stop at Kyle's Express (old Dickies) in town. The new Circle K has non-ethenol on the outside pumps only and Kyle's and Jack Miller's also have it.
Do a Google map search for 61755 Bayou Rd, 70764. That's the arena I manage and there's a nice ramp across the street from there. I launch there because it's never crowded. I run Bayou Plaquemine to the Intracoastal and turn left to Jack Millers. My boat runs 33 mph and it take me 12 minutes to Jack Miller's. I don't fight that tight little ramp and sometimes the other people there are just plain rude. I don't tolerate stupid. - Paul
