    Default 4.11 oz Black Crappie

Check this out. Was posted on Facebook. Wow.

HOLY CRAPPIE! Earlier this week, young angler Brady Murr caught this whopper of a black crappie in a private pond, weighing in at 4 lbs 11 oz, just shy of the 5 lb state record black crappie! Brady's father contacted MDC to weigh the fish and determine a positive species ID. Brady and his father later released the fish alive into the private pond from which they caught it. Name: 5 lb.jpg

Over half a pound bigger??? That's quite a lot! Both were great fish but I would've had this one on my wall.

I would have done the same thing. Only because it's a pond. My thoughts would be "ok, it's not a record...but will be next yr when she is full of eggs". And of course in a pond u can fish one end to the next so it's only a matter of time. At least that's how I think.

But who knows, she may have been too stressed and not made it another day.

    I read it 4.11 when I posted. I see now it's 4lbs 11ozs. That IS a pig, plus it's a speck.

My thing is if you have a good photo and measurements they can make a replica for your wall. Might be mistaken but I thought that to be true. I bet it eats a lot of bluegill on that small pond. Doubt any shad in it.
