I was watching a rerun of Uncle Bill and Scott fishing on the G3 Sportsman. He took the words right out of my mouth when he said that he had to have some chartreuse somewhere in the boat when he goes fishing.
It is the same with me. I just got to have some chartreuse in all of the baits I personally make for myself to fish with because I just have a ton of confidence in that color for the waters we fish here in Alabama. I will put a contrasting color with it and the odds go up to 99.9871% that the crappie will see one of those colors. I just made up that percentage folks. I should say your odds go up a great bunch the crappie will see one of those colors. These are my personal favorites. What are your opinions about good old chartreuse? I know Bob Hinkle loves chartreuse too.

Good post Ship.
Crappie sized baits should be under some kind of rule or law that requires at least some portion of each bait be chartreuse. Lol
I've got two colors that are my go to colors and both have chartreuse tails. Every once in a while a hot pink or fluorescent orange tail on these colors will do better, but it doesn't happen very often. I honestly feel that any bait with a chartreuse tail will out fish any other color combination regardless of what color is ahead of he chartreuse. A chartreuse tailed bait will out fish a solid chartreuse bait, especially when fishing crappies.

ctom The best color combination that I ever had was that I had a fluorescent orange body with silver glitter in a chartreuse tail it was dynamite in the snake River in Oregon especially on smallmouth and crappie. I think chartreuse is a dynamite color or any combination when you are making plastic baits it is probably the number one with all the guys that I deal with. in a good thing about chartreuse is any color goes with it.
