    Default Toledo Bend Report

The wind has been absolutely horrible! However I fished with my neighbor and we did pretty well considering we couldn't even keep the boat straight when trolling, but we did troll my little 1/32 Oz Roadrunner style baits. We fished in 16' water +- a few feet since the wind was blowing us all over the place. Still we fished 2 afternoons and one morning and we started the morning at 7 to 11 and then afternoons were 4:30 or 5 to 8. We ended up with 45 and some small, but some nice ones too. Got like 10 pound of filets from it that we split.

its hard to find places to get out of the wind even enough to fish reasonable, but we got behind a bank for some of our track, but still lots of time going sideways so only one of us could actually fish where they were. Other wise we would have had a good many more! Example was yesterday afternoon, one would catch and the other not even a bump because one was on line and other was off in deeper water. So instead of the 16 we brought in, it would have been probably close to double that.

Very good report Skip! Too bad about the wind. It can be a pain at times. Glad you caught a few! It's been weird weather lately in Texas for sure and next week is not going to be any better.

Thanks kickingback, but I did forget to add an important fact and that was color and seemed to me very important. The Blue and Chart was working great especially when cloudy, but when the sun came out that color took the back seat to Silver/Silver/Blue which was awesome. I did catch one on Black and Chart, but not near as effective as the Blue and Chart.

Hmmm...blue and char. Never used that. I use the black and char or the blue and white all the time. I will try that the next time the sun decides to shine or hide. Thanks!

    Your Welcome!

I tie the Blue and Chart with a Chart head, blue body like crystal or if chenille it's the Copenhagen Blue and a chart tail, most find it better more times than Black and Chart really! The other one is Silver Head/Silver Crystal/FL Blue Body and seems these medium to light Blue's really do well and have been using that Blue and Chart for something like 7 or 8 years now.

    Hi Guys,

Wife and I are retired and just purchased a lake house near the Six Mile Creek Bridge. I was hoping to get acquainted with a few people from that area. We need a lot of help and info fishing-wise. I never was able to figure out how to start a "new thread." Everything I click leads me to nowhere.

Welcome! I am not sure where Six Mile Creek bridge is but someone may chime in that knows. I am in Houston myself and hit the lakes close by. I can help if you need info on Conroe, Somerville, Houston, Fayette, or Gibbons.

    Default Six Mile Creek

Six Mile Creek is just about the mid-point of reservoir. It's near the town of Hemphill.

beebobber if you live right there I am just across 6 mile from you. I have lived here for 16 years or so and fished Toledo Bend since it opened. Give me a call on the phone and I will send you that number via PM. If new here just look near the top of the page to see Private Messages and click on that to go to the PM's.

You can also just click on my name and then select send Private message.
