Yep so far just a body one color and a tail a separate color is my goal. I only have one injector. Can ya get just the tail section welded to a new body? I was leaving a little bit of body on to give more surface to weld the second color.

    Couple from this evening

you are doing just fine I make mine the same way as you to have a good solid connection. contact Lakeside tell Chuck you want a tell mold he will make you a tale mold for that bait.

it is a good producer I used it last year on the snake River caught a lot of different fish including big perch also some mighty fine crappie with it they sure I've got some bluegills here in Texas with it. also like quite a few smallmouth bass in Oregon with it.
I forgot to mention if you ever do decide to buy a dual injector get a hold of Bass tackle they make the best it is the one that I have it does a beautiful job I will post some of mo bait used in the dual injector to show you.

I did contact do it and they don't offer a tail mold. A mold from lakeside is around $250-300 depending on how many tails in the mold. Guess I will just be stay doing what I am doing for that money. Thanks for help and insight.

Bass Tackle is the dual injector I have and it has produced some clean baits for me.

I don't pour too many baits like this anymore as I usually just pour a one colored bait or a one color body on to a one color tail. I keep telling myself I need to pour dual injected baits but I don't.

When I was selling to the public I used to cut the tail along the body with scissors. It was a curved cut.

I found that if I didn't place the tail a 1/16" or so inside the body cavity, the pressure of the body color coming into the cavity would push the tail down a bit and I would have body color showing on the tail. Even with the tail being inside the body cavity 1/16" too much pressure would push it down. I was after a clean bait and this is sloppy to me. This annoyed me.

Now that I'm not selling to the public I don't care about the body being one color and the tail being another. The fish don't care either. It is also easier doing it this way in my opinion. I also found that you get a better bond as there is more surface when fusing the two together. I just use a utility knife blade and press straight down to cut.

Dr. Nip is a great guy and helps new people with questions and colors and tips unlike "Some" Key word "SOME" people who sell plastics and think they own the market this is a great hobby if you surround yourself with the right people! Keep up the good work b/c I know you are like me and new and just getting into the hobby hopefully we can learn a lot together and share what we learn and also our mistakes lol since we both live in the same area!
