Every once in awhile we'll go to Harris but we usually got to Jordan. Jordan is so much larger and has a lot more ramps. Love Harris but with 2 small ramp areas it's tough in the summer.
It seemed like every time I went to Harris there was a sheriff's boat on the water but I've never seen any law enforcement at Jordan. When the idiots start harassing it's good to have the video running on the smart phone. They can't argue when the video shows what these morons are doing.

Call the NCWRC violation number and report a violation; most times a WRC Officer will respond, if there is one in the area. They love to give harassers a citation.
(The law states [No person shall operate a personal watercraft on the watersof this State at greater than no-wake speed within 100 feet
of an anchored or moored vessel, a dock, pier, swim float,
marked swimming area, swimmers, surfers, persons engaged
angling, or any manually operated propelled vessel (except
within 50 feet in a narrow channel)). Other laws also cover the reckless endangerment of people and property.

As for the skiers, I have been tempted to accidentally cast an old plug, with several treble hooks, into their path. You might get sued, but they would have to prove that that it was intentional, and the 100 foot rule would be in your favor.

As far as the boat noise, get ear plugs; there's no law on it that I know of, yet, but contacting our legislators might change that.

Never look down on someone unless you're helping them up.

That brings up another question. When you guys are going thru a somewhat narrow creek, like Robeson, do you do so on plane or do you go slow? I don't like to come off as the butthead that has a need for speed that is doing 30mph out of there but I prefer people to be on plane but not within 10 feet of me. The bigger boats that sit low in the water can give off some major wake if they are slow moving.

Anytime I pass a boat on narrow rivers (Eno-Flat-Upper Neuse) I go to "no wake" idle. It's just common courtesy !!!

The day I got harrassed by the wakeboarder, I chased him down ( wakeboats usually don't go too fast. I took pictures, as the jerk in the water pointed to his boat numbers. My wife , 14 year old son, and I then moved out into open water. A center console passed us playing a song saying " Myrtle Beach! G**D*** MF, Myrtle Beach"! It was all I could take. Called WRC.Not much they can do without witnessing the incident. With all these people moving down here from states where being an ******* is virtue, it may be best for people like me to fish during the week or at night. Sorry to be blunt, but, it's a character flaw I have,

I always troll from the ramp in Robeson creek to the mouth no matter what the time of year. Always catch something thru there.
