Great job, I fished Erling Saturday morning, caught 14 good fish but not as nice as yours. You done good.
Good job those are some nice fish.
I caught 25 sat on Erling but they were the last of the males on the bank. So much fun with 2ft of line out sticking your pole under those cypress limb and feeling that thump. I just need to commit more time learning where and how to fish it.
I can't say that I have ever saw a guy struggling and withheld information(if I had it,) that could help him, except maybe if I am pre fishing for a tournament. I run into people on Conway all the time who obviously don't have a clue about how to catch them there. They always tell me they ain't biting when my live well is full of slabs! I do my best to put em on fish, tell them the how and why, give them a few jigs that I am catching them on, and even offer up my catch if they want it. Last year, I ran into a guy at Adams Lake and he was struggling, fishing a jig and bobber about a foot deep. I had him jump in my boat and we fished through the area, and put seven fish in the boat in about twenty minutes, took some pics and gave him my catch for the day. That was last year, and the bite this year is better than ever! They are putting in their time, unlike the internet scouts. Somebody took the time to show me the ropes, what happened to paying it forward?

Good for you, Chris. Glad to see you help someone like that. I agree that it's easier to help someone who is out there trying and just doesn't know how. Pay it forward, man!![]()
My wife keeps saying I never listen to her....... or something like that!
other guy probably had a coolerfull too and thought he was being sneaky too/
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

WTG Cmj, that's what it's all about!!
CMJ...your response to my thread got under my craw a little bit. I see you too have exceptions. I have no problem paying it forward to anyone. I have fished Lake Erling for the past 6 years. I get up at 2 in the morning leave out at three and I am on the water at 6 a.m. .I have yet to ask anyone what color jig where the fish are or anything of the like.I was never taught how to crappie fish what I have learned I have learned on my own over the past 40 years. Withholding some information is part of the game of fishing. telling lies about fishing has always been the storyline. I to on most occasions giveaway jigs and tell where I am catching them at. I even gave a crappie.com general jigs a few years back at Lake Paradise prior to me putting 50 in my live well as he was not doing well that morning. What really got to me about your post was the part you thoughtfully edited out where you said " there is no sense in being greedy ". We all have different types of greed. My greed does not come from turning on a fish finder hovering over water till I see a school of shad putting out 8 or 10 poles and catching as many pre spawn crappie as I can before they get a chance to get to the shallows to spawn. My greed is seeing people happy. I do not eat fish. All I catch I fillet, bag and freeze and give them away to those who cannot fish or are unable to fish. I have elderly friends, wheelchair boumd friends and people I have never met that I give fish to. Today I took off work to cook fish for the Hospice Home Care Nurses in Monticello as it is National Nurses Week. If that's no paying it forward then what is.....

If/when that happens to me, I just say "I was earlier, but they quit when you pulled up".....................
which they did......
