Hadn't been to LP in a little bit. We did pretty good on the smaller hens. Water temp was pretty low considering we are in May already. We were using the pink & reptile Autos (1/32nd with EC Lil' Nasty #6 hook) tipped with crickets.

Great pics. Great fish.
Wear your PFD!!!!!
This is the day the Lord hath made, rejoice and be glad in it.

Beautiful bluegill !! I see your Auto-Jig is still working it's charm.
I'm not skilled enough fisherman to get that size gills. I'll have to check and see if Eagle Claw makes that hook in a #8. Sure is refreshing that you folks are able to maintain the size of those gills considering the population in the area .
My goal to make it out there but it is unlikely. Been reading about that place for years. Nice fish.
Regards
Nice catch, Sonny!
nice fish will be some good eating
Thnx guys
og - EC makes the Lil' Nasty down to size 10. PM your snail mail and I can send you some to try..
Ah - Get a red eye out to Ontario and it can be done. Better hurry before our lakes dry up!! LOL! I keep a pontoon on Lake Perris. Lake Havasu is a trek but you will catch a fish (if not several) of a life time!
Thnx Walt.
We were going to keep some sniper - ended up giving a bunch to an old Veteran friend at the dock.
sniperei LIKED above post
Nice fish, looks like a good time was had.
LedHed, Thank you for the kind offer. I'll try to find a supplier that pours on these hooks first . In the meantime I have already ordered some 1/32nd RB heads on a #8 hook so I can get a feel for the Auto-Jig style pattern in my local waters. I tied a similar one today with a lighter head and the bluegill thought it was time for a feast. !! lol .
Thnx egg358
og - good news on your tye. We 1st tyed them on a 1/80th & #10 hook but ended up with too many gut hooks. I'm using a 1/32nd & #6 hook. Starting to use a #4 hook for Lake Havasu.....
Some people like the Lil' Nasty and some don't. The only real complaint I've heard is that they aren't sharp out of the box - because they don't catch the nail. I haven't had any problems with hooking up and I have some stuck some very nice fish using them. The quality control blows Matzuo out of the water and the ECs are made in America. I think the wire is diameter is thinner - big advantage for Ultra Light fishing.
