    Default Enid Bream Fishing

Any of you guys do much bream fishing at Enid? I usually go just for fun and catch small to medium fish with most tending towards the small size. These are what I like to call catfish bait, but I wouldn't mind catching some larger fish if possible. I'd call them supper. Guys, I don't mind detailed directions to honey holes, hot spots, or the such, but I'll certainly be pleasured with general locations, possible whereabouts and/or helpful instructions.

I have never caught a bream at Enid or Sardis for that matter.

Yeah, Big Four not really known for their bream, though there was a time........... (funny sound effects/ wiggly screen effects)........... that we used to wear em out on Grenada. I was young, so I would say late 60's or early 70's. The best bream trip I ever went on started as a May crappie fishing trip. The crappie were not biting, so my Grandfather put a cricket on a hook.....and the rest was history. Seems like we caught them good for several years after that.

Thanks fellows. I will just stick to catching them for fun then and leave the eating for other fishes.

I keep a couple 1/64th oz jigs in my box for bream. Lots of times in may when im crappie fishing in the cypress brakes I have fish nibble at my jig. if I get a lot of nibbles I will change over to the 1/64th and find out what it is. More times than not its some pretty nice bream in there. I have caught a dozen or so but never wore them out. If u can find some wax worms to slide on your jig it really helps. Enid is where I catch the bream mostly.

Come to think of it, I've never caught a bream at any of the big four. Heard tell that Washington has some nice bream fishin in the summer months. I usually head to Reelfoot in Tn., for my bream/shellcracker/red ear fishin. Those lilly pads are deadly during the full moon in May thru Aug.
