Not crappie but my fishing club spent 3 days on the lake fun fishing. We laid into the hybrids really good and there were several nice stripers hauled in as well. We mainly fished up the Tugalo arm from the state park darn near up to Yonah dam. We did find some nice crappie in the back of Eustenala Creek. They were hitting 6 to 8 inch blue backs. That cold rain dropped the river temps so that slowed the bite a good bit. Downlines were the ticket.

With your electronic did you see them hit your baits? Sounds like it was fun.![]()
Hartwell still has some nice stripers. The 30+ lb fish on the handbook cover was caught and released in Dec 2013, which was after the flooding/die off on the lower end. My guess is that many bigger fish find cooler areas in the upper river areas to spend their summers. Not all go to the lower end (IMO). Hard to find them though. Thanks for the report!
Big Striper was 29 lbs
Big Hybrid was 10 lbs
Big Crappie was 2 lbs
Some catfish were caught too but no weigh on those.
