I think it is very possible that they are having an impact upon the Reelfoot fishery.

That may be true, but the couple of years of low water and relentless taking of fish out of the lake didn't help along with the fact that we had 2 poor spawns to boot afterwards.
I don't blame the carp. They haven't ruined the chutes off the Mississippi and there's more carp in them than in Reelfoot.

Well I have had two bad years on Reelfoot but I love that lake. I saw this today at Discovery Park and it is in my blood for sure.

I can say for sure, the bite will be off Next Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and part of Monday. As I can shut the bite down at Capt D's....
But will say it will be fun if we don't catch a fish. But I for one will limit out each day. One is my limit. And buddy of mine told me where all the fish will be.
    Pete

P.S. never had a bad day on Reelfoot fishing yet. Now catching is different. But love that lake and catching is just icing on the cake.

The carp have nothing to do with the fishing in the lake. Do yall not think think that the carp in Kentucky lake are bad? Hey what about lake Washington down in Mississippi? I have idled more this year then ever just trying to see if I can spook some and I have yet to spook the first carp. I have a lot of bow fishing friends that are on the water every night during the weekend and even they are saying they are seeing little to no carp besides when they get closer to the spillway. The carp have nothing to do with it. It's just the two bad spawns and us plucking limit after limit off the stumps a few years ago
