    But for others that may be following ...

    Humviewer is a HB recording viewer ... Not a snapshot viewer ...

    The HB snapshots will be on the SD Card in a folder named "SNAPSHOTS" ...

    Inside this "SNAPSHOTS" folder will be 2 files associated with each snapshot ...:

    * The .PNG file (this is the actual snapshot that Windows or Mac should open by double clicking on it) ...
    * The .dat file (this is the data file the HB unit uses to associate with the snapshot) ...

    Does this mean the OP needs to go back to getting HumminbirdPC to run correctly in order to view snapshots?

    Just to clarify ...::

    *HBPC is NAV data management only ...
    *Humviewer is HB recording player only ... (Although you can take snapshots during the recording playback in Humviewer ) ...
    *HB snapshots are .PNG format ...which can be viewed with most any native OS photo viewer ...

    Okay, now I feel like I'm getting close to hijacking this thread. I thought one of these had the ability to playback and then adjust settings, zoom in/out, change pallettes, mark waypoints, etc. And what does "NAV data management" mean? Just a big list of waypoints?

    NAV data is waypoints/routes/tracks ... HBPC is a program for organizing/grouping/editing and getting that NAV data into a format that can be imported back into the HB head unit ... (HBPC does have the ability to view this NAV data in Google earth) ...HBPC is a free download from Humminbird.com for users of registered HB products ...

    Humviewer is a 3rd party HB recording viewer ...designed by a guy from Denmark ... Humviewer has the ability to view/rewind/change palette colors/adjust viewing settings/mark waypoints/export waypoints/view waypoints in Google earth/etc...

    Humminbird does not offer a PC based recording viewer ...and it's unlikely they ever will because they already provide a recording viewer = the head unit ...

    Your not hijacking at all. I can change the name of the thread to "Rickie please educate us" if necessary. LOL
