Going to drown some minnows very shortly. A huge redear jerked my pole out of the boat yesterday. Thank goodness the cork handle floats, I grabbed it as it swam past the bow. It was the best fish of the day, a big male about 12in.

It absolutely poured down rain last night.

Things were just settling in for the best part of the spawn and now all the rain is going to mess things up again I'm afraid. Don't hesitate to hit some of those redear/bluegill hot spots this early. They will be staging to start to spawn and the big bull males will probably be the 1st to hit them. Early bird gets the worm and early fisherman gets the biguns.

You're right Doug, caught a redear today that I seriously considered bringing to you for the mount. Got a few big males that are pushing 2lbs, threw back a monster female too. It always shocks me how hard they pull.

My boat is over at Buzzard Rock in the slips...I'm in the vhull Alumacraft with the wife and son. I tell ya, the redear bite is close! Get around stake beds in Davenport or Demumbers and you should catch a few hogs but patience is key...slow bite but the ones you catch are trophies. I had a bunch of crappie fishermen drooling over these huge ears at Buzzard Rock! Where you staying?

They are catching big crappie in Buzzard Rock. A man caught a 3lb crappie off the back docks the other day. I usually go to the LBL side for bluegill and redear.
