Hey yall, I'm new to the electronics part of fishing. I was wondering if yall could give me some advice and recommendations on what I should get/ how to use them.
Thanks

Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
I figured 600-800 just starting out. It will be the first one I've ever bought and have no clue about them. Jigginpolejoe has been helping me but still recommended I get on here and see what I get
Welcome to the board, Opie. Contact Brian at BBG Marine for the best deals and lowest prices. He'll tell you what you need and give you the best price.
My wife keeps saying I never listen to her....... or something like that!![]()
BBG is who I bought mine from. He is easy to deal with. Sounds like a Hummingbird 998 might be what your looking for but I'm sure not an expert on them.

I agree that you should get the best unit that you can afford, but I dont think a 998 is in your price range. A good used one maybe. You will just be disappointed with the smaller units, particularly if you are looking for side imaging. It is nearly impossible to make anything out on the smaller screen. I would recommend Lowrance over Himmingbird. Much better units in my opinion. Clearer di and si images, and overall better features and functions. And no, they are not "easy" to use, but you will get the hang of it, and after a while, you wont know how you ever got along without it. Check out the electronics forum on here and read up on it. It will also help to go with someone that has one and can show you a few things. Good luck!
