Cool wateree striper report tore em up sunday at wateree caught 65 in two hours

sunday after church me and my buddys hit the lake we couldnt catch anything all day we saw some bass on the beds we caught one or two of them but around 6 we found some shad in a little cove and we knew it wasnt gonna be long untill the stripers showed up and man it wasnt 5 minutes later when the party started . it was crazy left and right there where fish boiling we couldnt go two casts without hooking up with one. there where stripers blowing up left and right all of the home owners in the cove where watching us taking pictures and all because every fish was 2-3 pounds and we where just pulling the striper and white bass in like no ones buisness we only kept 10 of 65 because i didnt feel like skinning all of our limits but by the time it was about time to go my buddy got a hook in his face from my freinds treble hook it was about dark so we had to pack it up and go to the landing but evertything was good because we gave the fish a beatin.

what to use. use any shallow diving crank bait that looks like a shad i use a small shad rap my freind that got hooked used a big chrome and light blue rebel jerk bait. and my buddy that hooked my other buddy was using a medium sized shad pattern rattle trap

what depth the fish where in a depth from 4-30 feet the bigger ones where in shallower water probably using the banks to there advantage to trap shad and gulp them all up

what to look for just look for shad where the shad are the striper are

what time from sun up to about 730 in the moring and from 6 to dark is when we expereince most of our luck

equpment we used bass spinning reels with 10pound test

sorry for any confusing sentence and misspelled words

    be safe and tight lines

Sounds as if an action packed day was had for sure. Nothing more exciting as having a huge school of fish blowing up on the surface, and your boat sitting right amongst them. Congrats to you and the gang on a fine day of catching and camaraderie.

I love it when that happens. Only way to find out is if you go!
