I've caught a bunch of crappie and some dead serious bass out of the Rock. Like night fishing there, run a spinnerbait around a standing dead cedar and see what happens.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

Piney creek is my best spot in the late spring, some pretty good crappie in the area.

Fished this last weekend in the Kings. Caught some absolute monster slabs with a bonus 25 inch walleye. The only problem was the fish were scattered out all over the place. Couple on the bank but most were off the bank in 8-30 ft of water. We were catching big females on trees in 30 ft of water and 1 here or there on the bank. We pounded the bank hard with minnow/bobber but the bluegill were up on the bank stealing our minnows pretty regularly. We kept about a dozen huge hand size gills which filleted out nicely. We would pull into a cove and the 3 of us would cast the entire cove bank and only pull maybe 1 or 2 fish out. Pretty tough fishing with no concentrations of fish anywhere. The highest water temp we saw was 67.5 degrees but even in that cove the females we caught were not spawned out and eggs were not ready yet. Very interesting for sure and one of the most puzzling springs I've fished in a long time.

Caught 18 on Saturday with 3 being 15 inch slabs. The rest were 12-14 inch solid fish. Did not catch hardly any shorts, maybe 2 all day.

Sunday caught 14, 3 fish were 14.5 inches, the rest were solid keepers. Caught 4 shorts.

New guy to the site from Iowa. I have been sent to Springfield to work this week. Was planning on fly fishing in Taney but the water is going to be high. I also brought some crappie gear. Any recommendations for a bank fishing area. I will be fishing in the mornings mostly. Usually don't start working until around 2 pm most days. Very experienced crappie fisherman in many states. Crappie are the same from Massachusetts to Texas.

Went saturday evening and had only three keepers. Two 1.5#ers and a 1 3/4#er. Eggs were starting to turn and the were in closer to the bank than i expected.
I missed the pre stack up on the rock by going to Texoma and striper fishing. Serves me right for turning my back on Lady Table Rock. Tried to make up with her yesterday after church and stunk it up big time. One here and there and my prime gps spots for spawn (SP1,SP2,SP3 etc.) didn't turn more than one a piece.
Timing is everything, probably should have hit the main lake areas where the water is in the low 60's.
Water temp. 64 - 67 in the James. Fish were biting well on some other person's line. Sorry for the lack of help.
