I've fished from lake of the woods to old Mexico.

My favorite way to catch crappie is wading in button willows.

They are delicious, a blast to chase and most of all I love to feel the thump of a big slab!

The people you meet crappie fishing to me are more friendly. Bass fishing has gotten so competitive, and those that compete on any level have gotten down right rude. Trying to run people out of the spot they want to fish because they need that spot because they are fishing for money. I have heard that statement said several times. To me that gives the sport of bass fishing a bad name. I am not saying all bass fishermen are that way but I have ran into quite a few that are. Crappie are a great tasting hard fighting little fish. They are a worthy quarry also, but get your technique the way they want it and you have a nice mess of fish.

I grew up on a pond teaming wih bass. I can still to this day go out and catch them until my arms fall off. When I got a boat I happened on a school of crappie and caught my limit. The next weekend I brought a friend to that spot and we didn't catch one. We searched all day until finally in the last hour found them in some standing timber and caught them until dark. I find them a challenge to find and catch and love that they school up and are not "lone wolves" like the big bass are. Also agree there is something about that thump and dead weight that get me everytime. Just yesterday I said that to my buddy on the boat as I was reeling in a dink. It doesn't matter the size its that subtle thump that excites me like a little kid. Also I do catch a lot of bass while crappie fishing. Got this one yesterday right along side the crappie.

Crappie are very thinicky eaters! But what one likes usualy most like, so its like putting together a puzzle trying to figure out what works for that day and that body of water. They are a challenge to figure out but once you do they jump in the boat!

A bass is very aggressive and will eat anything. Crap throw the biggest ugliest bait you can find and catch a bass no problem.. Anyone can catch a bass lmbo!!!! I do love to bass fish.......when I'm feeling lazy!

I fish for crappie most of the time. But I will fish for anything. If your catching carp good I'll go with you and catch carp. If they'll pull my string I'll do my thing.
