There are how to articles on the MCC webpage and links to a lot of articles written by those who fish the Rez all the time. Plus gitdagrease and feeshrman are pros in that water. Don't hesitate to use the info here or to ask questions. This is about spending time not money having fun with the family. 1648's are an awesome size for a boat. Shallow running and stable. Have fun!

Wow, that was quite a collective response from all of y'all on this forum. Thank you for all of the replies. Glad to know that this is something that could turn into a family affair once I get a better handle on things. I've got two little girls, ages 4 and 6 who really like to go bream fishing with me .

GDG I will definitely be in touch, thank you for the offer.

Welcome to the board Braden. Most of the fishermen here will gladly help you get started. Hang out at the boat ramps and at Tommy's on 43. Most of the locals are willing to share their info as far as to how and where to catch some. BE OBSERVANT when you're on the water. Lots of boats usually means their catching fish in those areas. Won't hurt one bit to go over and see if you can catch some also.

Sorry. Meant to edit my post above, not quote it.

Braden, been gone last week, but welcome to the site. You've gotten some great advice, and the only thing I could add is.. "don't listen to Wannabe"...he will get you on his one fish per trip schedule and that's NOT what yur lookin for.lol Seriously, there are some GREAT guys here and will help you any way they can. The "Rookie Forum", that's not the title of it, but you get my point, will give you some very general good start up advice. From then on, it's trial and error, and just watchin and listenin to some of the old timers. My guess is, when those 4 and 6 year olds latch on to a nice crappie, you'll be spending more time on the water than you think, and that's a good thing. Good luck to you and enjoy this passion.

Welcome to the Forum Braden. The more time you spend on the lake you are fishing the better.Like Feesh and GDG said. Start out simple and work your way up.Ask questions anytime on here and you will get answers. These guys and gals are pretty much ugly to look at but they will help you with most questions you have.
