I had to decide if I was going to start crappie fishing again and if not I needed to sell my boat. My pontoon has sat for over two years and needed love and attention. So, I took it to the shop on Hwy 8 in Lexington to clean the carbs for the third time. The boat is cleaned and ready, got new batteries to install, rods and reels cleaned and restrung.
Skylar and I fished off the bank this weekend at Flat Swamp and caught a few crappie, she is rearing to go. She and I have a trip planned to a little canal off the Alligator River in Hyde Co this weekend. I spent most of last week there and a friend and I caught literally hundreds of nice bream, even a handful of 2 pounders. I could still close my eyes and still see the green Mr. Crappie float going under.
I am glad to see some of my friends are still on here, and I hope to once again be a contributing member of Crappie.com.
I know I will miss talking to ole Gilby on here and seeing him on the water. RIP my friend.

Hi friend glad to here you are going to get your boat back on the water.Nothing sadder than a boat that only gets wet when it rains.

Fish don't care how much you spent on your boat!!
Welcome back!!!
Good to hear from you again Rick. Good luck!
Glad your back Rick. I've had the Sheriff go by your house 3-4 times trying to locate you. You must have been hiding.
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
Good to hear from you and hope to see you on the lake!
