    Default Black Bayou Hosston

Finally had a nice weather day on a weekend, so took my youngest out to Black Bayou in Hosston. Started off beating the banks thinking I'd find perch there, but only picked up a bass and one of those bream I call a goggle eye...probably not the right name for them. After that, we moved out to the trees fishing for bream and found one here and there. Not fast, but had a good time with her. We ended up with about 10 big bream and a couple of bass.

Only saw one small wasp nest in a tree....but nearly put her under a snake on a limb about 2 feet above us before I saw it. I'd been looking, but didn't see him soon enough. And about a million turtles, that she wanted to go catch! lol

Also watched another guy pull in a big bass...he weighed it and said just over 8 lbs. I got a few pics of him with it on his phone as he was going to release it back.

Anyway, here's a few pictures from today. Too tired to go out and take a full box picture right now.

Great post and pix. I'd rather fight the snake than wasp's. In the pix, the hanging one is a goggle eye(warmouth) and you have 2 chinquapin's (shell cracker or red ear) and a perch (bluegill). And some nice bass. And a cute girl!!! Good job Dad.

Thx guys. Ended up with 4 bluegill, 1 goggle eye, 2 bass, and 4 chinquapin (that we're big enough to filet). Plenty for a meal, so looking forward to it later today.

I was proud of her for sticking it out with me all day. She hasn't wanted to fish much due to lack of bathrooms around lakes. Lol didn't have to stop once though.

Thanks for the report. Congratulations on catching supper. That is a beautiful lake. I used to love to fish it when I lived in Cotton Valley.
