I picked up one today at grizzly. Looked at all them and the spyder loc was by for the nicest of them. Great product. One question did anyone else choose to scrap the springs on the knobs? Any disadvantages in doing so?

the springs go between the base and the holder, not under the base and between the knob. they are there you just cant see them.

Lol, me too.... The springs are there to raise either the cross bar or head when the knob is loosened so not to just go teeth on teeth when adjusting. Just makes for a smoother adjustment..

I like the springs....properly placed they keep you from having to lift the upper piece out of the teeth to make a adjustment....great idea

It is a great idea an thanks for explaining it to me! I got her mounted and on and just trolled through the yard. Didn't have any luck I'll blame it on the wind but this thing is the nicest on the market and big upgrade from the one I had. Thanks.
