I hit the water bright and early this morning. This trip was not as costly, but I ended up with 25 perch and a bream that I caught. Someone gave me two perch. A sweet little older woman gave them to me since I gave her some jig bodies. She had been fishing for quite a while, and she had only caught two small perch. I could not say no to her. Todays catch, outside of what was kept..... I caught 45-50 that were just under the half pound range. I caught a lot of them that were the size of a bream a lot of people would catch. Then there were the tiny tots, and I caught a lot of them as well. I had to weed through bream to catch the perch. I had one rather big fish on the line, and I never got to see it. I am half tempted to say it was a rather big bass. I moved about 15 yards, and I did get a glimpse of a bass that was pretty big. I would say an easy 7-8 lb bass. That one did show it's face, and it did not like the hook being in it's mouth. I could not turn that fish either. I caught another bass that was about 1 1/2 lb, which I let go, and I caught about a 5-6 lb channel cat which is still swimming as we speak. I have an ice chest shot, and a pic of me with the 5 biggest fish I caught. Tomorrow, I will send you a spread pic. It was a tough day of fishing, but it is better than being stuck indoors, or at work.
