We fished the bottom lake Saturday, top lake Sunday. Water temps were 58-60 in the main channels, 60-64 in the backs of creeks.
Really slow fishing, 6 crappies, 4 bass (one was 24") a dozen or so pike( had a 24" and a 29") a 36" bowfin and broke off a huge carp (like 25-30 pounds) on jigs. I guess slow isn't the right word, but slow crappie fishing. The specks we caught were in 2-3', jigs, shiners, neither was the real winner.
I was also on Meade Saturday, but I was bass fishing. However, I was in the back of a cove and noticed what looked like small beds. Upon further inspection, there was a nice crappie on every bed my friend and I saw. I'm sure the females weren't too far away.
