Yellow body with a chartreuse tail to fish on a red jig head. Dad used to have some OLD fat tubes that were red/yellow/chart that we used to load the boat with in the springtime. We recently ran out of them and haven't been able to find anything since that matched or even came close. I've been tying up some jigs in that combination but they are more of a pain to change out and I sure hate loosing them.

I like the new Beaver Bottoms. 17 colors and don't need to pinch the head off. Plus, great wide-gap hooks in super colors.

I really like the not only the baits but I met Steve Holsen and his dad Junior. They are really great people. There product and customer service are both great. They truly are interested in what people think of their product and what else they can do to make it better. Use that bait on a Huckabee Dipping rod and you can feel it when you hit baitfish.....great combo

I met Steve and his Dad in Arkansas last week where we were all waiting for the bite to pick up. I loved those Beaver Bottoms and filled one pocket with those and the other pocket with my new favorite jigs with a big clean eyeball and a wide bodied hook. Took them out the next morning and we were about the only ones I saw catching fish. Day before I used the same colors ( red and chartreuse) and same size jig head and lost more fish than I landed. With the larger hook we lost very few and man did those big males wallop those new jigs! As others have stated the owner, Steve is an unusually nice and accommodating person, who actually got out of bed to sell us some baits while we ate his most excellent chili. I believe Beaver Bottom chili would sell as fast as the jigs! Gonna try to post a picture or two of what we caught on a really slow day.

Not too proud of the pictures but those were some nice males running up to 1.75 lbs. and as you can see we did manage a few nice trash fish on the B B s! I wanted to cut their throats and throw em back in as a warning but Dennis has a soft spot for green buffalo so we gave them an oil massage instead.

Got a new shallow vertical jigging method going- I call it Shakey Shakey Boom! When those beefy Beaver Bootys shake their tail feathers good things happen TC. Since you've seen me fish I might as well admit the obvious- it's the Redneck product.

Heard the bite was full on at Millwood last week so I made the drive and got there a day late. Talked to several guys who all had 0-3 for the day which made me feel better about my time there. I fished alone ( my buddy in another boat with Big Ed) Monday 3-7pm plus Tuesday 7-noon I caught 21 biguns (well big for me). The funny thing about this lake is that we never catch any dinks ; one in 3 years of spring fishing in 1-9 fow. I fished exclusively with 2" Beaver Bottoms on 1/4 oz. jigs, mostly standing timber. Size ran from 12-15" and up to 2 pounds. Trying to take more pictures on the water but I can't see my screen in sunlight and ended up taking video of most of the shots I really wanted- so here's what's left.
