Fished poinsett most of the day till wind got too rough. Nothing bigger than 9 inches needless to say came home empty handed.

Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
Better contact local Poinsett pro on here , the 8'' slab master over there. i think he goes by RCC.![]()
Thanks for the report and welcome to the forum.
That small lake gets lots of pressure from what I've heard so don't feel bad if you don't catch lots of slabs there. But never give up just cause you have one slow trip.

I won't ever say a guy can't go there and catch a mess of fish because a person will do it an post them up just to prove me wrong. I will say it ain't what it was after the fiasco last year. A hundred trucks, on a tuesday, mainly crappie fishing, is death on a 600 acre lake. I got to see the shift from way over populated, where 30 crappie would fit in your regular sized styrofoam minner bucket, to the draw down with the population becoming where it needed to be, and then the couple years growth to what they were last year, then the decline of the fishery due to over pressuring. You guys over in Central Arkansas have seen the same thing in a place or two. The other hole up here is on its way out as well. I figure this spring will do it, if it hasn't all ready been done. I ain't the best fisherman in the world, but I do know my home water enough that I can look at sonar pics of the bottom and have a good shot at telling you where you are on the water especially if it is in the fish holding parts of the lake. Break out the gas money boys, it's time to drive.

The other lake is getting pressured pretty bad. Went there Monday and the parking lot was full. People were keeping everything they caught no matter the size. Caught around 30, but only 7 big enough. Seeing a lot of 6"-9" fish kept. Maybe once it's a dink hole the pressure will die off, and it will come back like it was.
