    Default Poverty Point; Tuesday, 3-24

First time I have been to Poverty Point in 10-12 years. Well, how can I say SSSSLLLLLOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW! And weird. I knew I was in trouble when I ran into a man that I know who fishes PP regularly at around 10:00 and he didn't have a single fish. I only managed 3 fish and they were suspended 7-8 feet deep in 20 feet of water. Couldn't get bit on any bank I fished and I fished a lot of bank today. But, as Maxwell328 said, it was a blessing to be out on the water and I had enough for me and my wife to eat for supper. I talked to several people who had 1 or 2 or 3. I take my hat off to Bobfish11. He caught more by himself than everybody I talked to added together.

I met one fellow after getting back to Delhi that had caught 9. He was telling me that they are tearing the crappie up on Black Bayou Lake, just north of Monroe. Only one problem; neither he or I can fish there because our outboards are bigger than 50HP.

The evening bite must be the ticket.

You went, you fished, and you caught 3 fish. Now you need a "T" shirt saying so. lol. As you know any day on the water is a blessing and I'm glad you got to enjoy it.

What hurts is that is a pretty long trip for just 3 fish! But then we can't figure that inthe formula can we! At least you didn't tear your motor up like i did on my last outing! i hit a stump and broke the steering bracket! Gonna be about a 350$ trip for 8 small fish!

the evening bite was just as slow I was there all day and managed only five fish. I tried every hot spot I know on the lake. Shallow or deep it didn't matter. I was there a week ago and was catching 15 to 20 every trip.

My partner and I went Monday and fished from 2:00 PM till almost dark. We each caught one apiece that weighed about a pound and a half .....plus I had a bonus of 2yellow bass, 2lb. Channel cat, 4 lb. blue cat, and "A Thang" that I fought for about 10 minutes on my ultra-lite with a Roadrunner.....thank goodness he finally just came unhitched.

Like they say, "A Bad Day of Fishing isBetter than A Good Day at Work". It was worth being on the water doing what we all like to do "FISH". Hope you have better luck next time out and catch a boat load.

Pastor wish I could have run into you.. The bite at times is painfully slow, especially for the point .. Strange thing is yesterday the late bite saved my day and today it was the morning.. Had 15 by 930... Took the rest of the day to catch that many more. Ended the day with one more than yesterday .. I also caught 2 fish with row coming out.. So you would figure the spawn would be on..just not sure why the bank is not on.. Kinda a crazy year for sure.. Glad ya had a good time..

My wife and I fished a couple of hours this afternoon and caught 2 white perch, 2 bream and a gou. Water looks good and is 65 degrees but the most I heard caught today was 5.
