Default New clamps that are working but my plastic is junk!!!!

Bought some cheap welding clamps for my molds and they are working great. Here is a picture of them. I have tried all kind of clamps the screw c clamps the blue bar clamps in two differ sizes. But so far these worked great today. If my plastic would cooperate all would be better. I have tried everything with this plastic and have been very displeased with this brand. It has turned with every batch i have shot, i have tried everything. This is not my first time i have shot about 5 gal of plastic more than 3 brands and never had this problem unless i overheated it. Like today i heated my 4oz of plastic 30 sec 2 times then i stirred every 15 sec then dropped to 10 sec until it reached 345F then did not reheat this is what happen temp never went over this had digital in during temp both shots and it did not rise. I have never used stabilizer in any i have shot.

You might try lowering your heat a little bit more 325° I don't know what type of plastic that you were using i use do- it and I'm using x2 I don't have any trouble with her plastic and with the x2 and I can run the temperature up to 400° without any problems sounds to me that you're having a problem plastic that you are using.to hot

The baits on the left had plastic too hot. Did you re-heat the batch by chance to make the second shot?

Nope I have 2 molds i shoot 20 shad at a time. The second batch was not reheated in fact had cooled to 319F when i shot it. This plastic has done this every time i have used it. If you reheat it gets more yellow every time. The reason i bought it was everybody talked about how clear it was. It has not been good for me. I know overheating turns it yellow but i have not had this problem in the pass unless i goofed up. I was using the infrared thermometer but changed to a digital thermometer for a better reading. Last year i shot a lot of violet pearl white and never had this problem with another brand. Cub48

I would say you got a bad batch of plastic without and stabilizer or not enough. Have you tried adding stabilizer?

I would have to agree with ifish it might be a bad batch of plastic I would contact Jerry at do-it tell him your problem they would definitely like to know something like this take sure that you tell them which plastic you were using.

No i don't have any, never used stabilizer before. Most of the time i only shoot less than a cup at a time. And i only reheat once or twice but with this i did not reheat I only have about a gallon left so i will use it on Bass Baits which most are dark colors. Blacks, Green Pumpkin, Dk Blue ect. I will just ask has anybody had this problem with one of the name brand plastic. Don't want to put down a company on here. But if u PM me i tell u the company. Cub48

I am not positive but i think i emailed them when i first got this 2 1/2 gallon But never heard from them !! When i first got it i was shooting Bass Baits but when i started to shoot my Crappie Baits was having this problem. I just thought i could change up things and over come the problems but have not. I don.t sell many so i just use my yellow Baits. Cub48

You need to keep in mind that if you are heating with a microwave, whatever it is that you are heating will continue to heat further AFTER the stuff is removed from the microwave. A first shot might be done spot on at 350 degrees while the time it takes to shoot, clear the injector and molds and re-clamp for round two might see the temp up to 365 degrees. Get some stabilizer and use it if you have issues like this. It saves a lot of bad plastic for the little it costs. And if its the company I think you are referring to, if you sent them a note by email they'd have been back with a reply in a heartbeat.
