    Default Jessup on Friday

Made it out to Jessup on Friday. What a beautiful sunrise. Just a Hugh ball of red, and a still and smooth lake. Put our first 2 lines in the water, and had 2 fish just that quick. Fished till 11:30 and had 15 keepers and 2 catfish. Threw back 20 or 25. Also checked on the Harney ramp. Now they say 4/2 before it opens.

Nice report coming out of Jessup, its' been a while since I've fished there.
Might be good with the Harney ramp down for a bit, seems like that end could use a break.
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

I live in Oviedo. Never thought about fishing Jessup because every time I drive over the 417 I never see any boats. If you don't mind me asking, what area of the lake do you fish, near the 417 bridge or towards the edges of the lake? Do you put in at Black Hammock? Any tips would be appreciated.

I'm sure speckdetector will see your post and he'll chime in....he's the resident expert on Jessup. I don't fish it often but when I do I hit the mouth of soldiers creek or near the shoreline at black hammock. I've heard of plenty good catches under the 417 also.

We have been fishing on the Soldiers Creek side. Have been putting in at the park close to 417. We troll and start early. Also fished this past Thursday and caught 15 keepers, and threw back a lot of small ones. Also caught a nice catfish. Wind blew us off the lake about 11:30. Checked again on the Harney ramp and the new date is April 3rd.
