I'm probably gonna show up and help. It should be fun, good way to meet people with similar interests, learn a few things, and get out on the 'water.' I think there might be food involved too.

Yep, afterwards they'll feed ya. Last 3 years its been hot dogs and chili and drinks.

so bowhunter012463 is the habitat drop still on for Saturday at 845a at Wilborn Creek access? How badly are boats needed for this? I could bring mine but not sure if I need to or not? Would like to help but don't want to get left behind if I don't bring it. Have always wanted to participate but circumstances have prevented it. Is this a morning project or all day? Too many questions probably...

good ?'s

i went last year and as I recall it was done by around noon, as far as I know its still on at the same time. If you got a boat bring it as they are always needed. Either way you can help by either hauling out and dropping or loading boats.

ok thanks clfarms1. Lake is free of ice, yes?

I think it os all ice free. All boats needed. I can't bring mine this year cause I got too much to do after the drop, but will be there to help.

WOW, what a great turnout. We had all the porcupine balls put together by 9 am and more boat than we needed. Thanks to everyone that helped. Sorry no pics cause it happened so fast. I will see if I can find some and load them up and repost them here.

that's what I said, WOW. I had no idea that many people would be there. The overflow parking lot was being used because the main ramp lot was full. Super turnout, well organized, and nice sunshine. Good conversation, learned some cool stuff from DNR, ACOE, and fellow fishermen. Met people from Clinton, Decatur, Tuscola, Sullivan, Effingham, Mattoon, Neoga and who knows where else. The love of this fishery is great. Thanks everyone.
