    Default cedar creek water patrol

We fished Cedar creek today It was Packed with boats. You are to go Idle speed only when passing someone actively fishing. No one ever goes idle speed. They will run right next to your boat and wash you in the trees. They were running through no wake zone. Probably my last trip. Water patrol needs to go write some tickets. I wish they would make it idle speed only like other state owned lakes. This is suppose to be a FISHING lake but you can't fish unless you are a Bass fisherman.
The only thing better than a day of fishing. Is a week of fishing.

I totally agree! I have always believed that it needs to be idle speed only. The lake is not that large. I have had the same boat pass me 2 or 3 times when I was not even moving....I was tied up to a tree. I'd be sitting there fishing when they would blow past me. Then 30 minutes later they would blow by me again so that they could fish the same area that they had just left 30 minutes ago. Makes no sense to me.

Its terrible. I was out there. I love to fish from my kayak but Im smart enough to stay out of the main channel. I saw two older people kayaking out in the middle almost get swamped. It would be a perfect lake to be idle speed only. I also saw a sailboat of all things.

When it was first opened, there was a presence of KDFWR CO's ... but, since that first year, I've yet to see any.

It was also supposed to already have a swimming beach and a marina ... and even though they've dumped sand & put up buoys around the beach area, I don't think the beach has "officially" been opened. And I don't know of any plans for a marina in the works.

It's also supposed to be a "fishing only" lake ... but, while I've never seen a sailboat, I have witnessed some people just doing a lot of "boat riding" & having no visible fishing equipment aboard.

I don't think things went "as planned" & the KDFWR and Lincoln Co. have kinda put it on the back burner and not designated many resources/funds towards it.

    ... cp
