Default walleye spawn from boat or bank?

I haven't really targeted walleye before but I want to try this year. My question is when they are spawning on the damn do you fish them from a boat or on the bank? The reason I am asking this is because several people told me to leave the boat at home and fish them from the bank.

Have done it both ways. I've a couple 13'ers for walk trolling the dam at the Glen. Done OK in years past. The problem is gettin to old to stumble around in the dark. As for the boat, I've done well but you might want to stay off the face of the dam if KDWP have their nets out. They have been known to set nets on some of the points up by the dam also.

Not a fan of walking riprap at night, hard enough to walk in the daylight. A badly turned ankle or worse makes for a long trek back to the truck.

Well I tried it with the boat, I could see the advantages either way. Going again tonight on foot.

Used to work the banks. Old knees will not handle riprap any more so it is boat for me. Good luck just remember you are catching the future walleye when you catch a big sow. Might want to let her go. Just saying
