    Default Rod length

New to spider rigging and really struggling on what length of rods. I've got 3 14' southern rods and 3 12' ones.

We will be down April 8-11, hopefully fishing Grenada. Is it that important to have 16' rods?

I use 10' and catch fish. Some will tell you you will need longer but like I said I catch fish. I would use what I got on hand now and decide on what to buy later. It does have it's advantages as having the bait farther from the boat as not to scare fish when the water is clear and the disadvantage is you will have more trouble landing the fish if fishing by yourself. Sounds like you have a good set up already to me.
Be safe and good luck fishing

I started out with 14's and caught fish and we still use them some. I have recently started using 16's. The biggest reason I went to 16's is to get my baits further away from my boat. Some lakes are clearer and sometimes if you're fishing shallower the sounds of the water slapping against the boat will spook fish. Nothing wrong with your set up at all if it's catching fish, a lot could be just personal preference? Good fishing to ya!

Poor dead horsey! Longer is better. Buy good quality - if you don't like you can sell. JMO

Silent Stalker will stop most of that wave slappin noise in short water....seriously!!! To your pole length. Sounds like your set. I use 12 and 14. Jus depends on clear water/muddier water/friend to help with net/wind. 12's are just fine.

Started with 12's and switched to 14's. Can't tell a lot of difference. I like em both.
