How long are the sides to the step? Does it extend down into the water when in the down position, if so, how far? Trying to figure if I could get my foot into it and still be able to pull up into boat.

Step came in. Here are pics and the specs. So far looks to be good. Has nylon washers to hold it up in place. Pull down when needed. Not big and bulky. I have time to mull over where to mount until paint comes in for it.

That looks great. Does it "lock" is the up stored position?

The nylon washers pretty much gives it enough resistance in the up position to keep it there pretty good. Over time I don't know yet. I will be mounting this under my transom handle so in the event it gets loose and not hold it up I'll construct a way to tie it to the handle.
