Default Kayak Trip Report, Garth Slough

I fished Garth Slough Saturday spider rigging 6 poles. Neverreally found the fish. I kept 5 Crappie and tossed back one slab and two shortfish. Fish were 2 to 4 feet deep with the best baitbeing a 1/16 oz ChartreuseMarabou Jig. The Channel Catfishwere crazy. I kept 14, lost another dozen or so and tossed back several once I ran out of room in mykayak.

I need a week of warm weather and about two or threefeet less water in the sloughs.

    well done ditch!

I fished indian creek yesterday from about 2-6 pm and did HORRIBLE. Not a single fish. I fished minnows, jigs, trolled, fished lay downs, casted into trees, channels, pitched bobbers, etc.....in the shallows and in the deeper water and NOTHING.

The water was still kind of muddy and was 58-63 degrees.

Waded around the susie hole yesterday afternoon. One striper. I'm getting depressed. I've almost forgotten what its like to catch a crappie. Fishing has been horrible for me the past two months. Hope to turn things around this weekend. Supermoon, lunar eclipse and the first day of spring is Friday!! Heading to Smith for an all nighter. Astro calendar is lit up with a score of 78 for Friday.

    Thanks for the post.

    Mudtar001,

How much water is left in Susie? I'm thinking of going back Saturday.
