    Default Archusa Creek

Anybody on here ever fish Archusa Creek in Quitman? I'm looking for some new possibilities while the Tenn Tom is at flood stage. I cross over this lake all the time but have never fished it. Thanks

Yes I fish the lake whenever I get a chance. I went today and caught a mess. Right now the water is real dirty with all the rain we have had. Maybe by Monday it will be settled and the water will cleared up some.

My wife and I fished from 2:00pm till 6:00pm with minnows and caught and kelp these 13 crappie and 1 yellow bellied perch. Now if I can just get the wife to rattle some pots and pans in the kitchen.

Nice catch. How is the water level in the lake. I know this time last year it was down quite a bit. Somebody told me that it was a problem with a leak in the dam or something like that. I am heading to Turkey Fork near Sandhill on Monday.

That was back about a year ago I think they fixed the problem. They always let the water down during the winter rainy season. They say that it is a flood control reservoir but I don't see where it really helps control floods. IMHO I think it just messes up the fish spawns and my fishing. The water is back to full level now after all the rains we had this past week. They have let the water back up early this year, maybe it will be better this year for the fish and fishermen. Give it a try sometime and hope you have lots of luck at Turkey Fork Monday.
