Without any knowledge, look for the boats. Don't get right up on somebody, keep ur distance, watch closely and do what the folks catchin fish are doin. Then experiment. You may find fish at 18' in 12 fow. You may find fish at 6 feet in 6 1/2 fow. With cold rain the temp at 3 feet could be warmer than surface temp. THAT my friend, is why the call it fishin.... Have ur self some fun, and some good lies ready if you don't do any good. lol

Best thing I can tell you is to follow the creek until summer gets here and then pull cranks out on the flats. To me jigs and nibbles work fine until crank bait time in the summer but lots of folks do use minnows. Find the bait fish and find the crappie. As far as depth if spider rigging set your bait at different depths and let the fish tell you where they are located. Just MHO.
