We usually fish jigs only, but occasionally we use minnows (not really trying to resurrect that conversation about minnows vs jigs). When we first moved to Fayetteville - I was told that there was a convenience store around the 412 bridge that sold minnows. I went in with a minnow bucket in hand to make a purchase and I noticed a sign behind the counter that said minnows $2.95/dozen (pretty high). Ahead of me at the counter was a young man holding a minnow bucket - he told the lady which owns the store - I ordered a dozen minnows and you only gave me 11. Her comment was after looking into the bucket "You must have lost one and I am not about to give you another minnow". The young man just muttered to himself and walked away. The same lady looked at me and said are you next and I replied - yes mam I just need one of those candy bars.

My buddy and I bought minnows in Batesville wednesday at what used to be called Renos I told the young man we needed 3 dozen large minnows he dipped a big scoop of them up and dumped then in the bucket, my buddy and I looked at reach other and knew we had more than 3 dozen. But then he dipped up another scoop and dumped then in the bucket and said "you think that's 3 dozen?" I said "yeah I think so." before left we checked with him to see what his work schedule was. I bet we had at least 2lb's. I should have given him a tip.
