Watched the GW pour out 6 - 8 cans from a yanks cooler he found in a boat last year. He said he finds it all the time in visitors boats. Got to read the rules. Can't have a firearm either, permit or not. Don't know what would happen if he found one but don't want to find out either and I have a carry permit. Just not worth it.

Yep, I watch a guy put the beer in the cooler and sit the paper container on the fire pit. The ranger drove by and saw the container. Made him pour every one of them out.

Act like grown ups and obey the law and respect the posted rules, instead of trying to hide the illegal beer like a child and there won't be any problems.
James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: (KJV)

That will work, I about had a heart attack last spring. Had a couple yanks in the boat with me and about lunch time one of em breaks out this small soft side cooler and gets a couple of beers out, offered me one and proceeded to pop a top. I hollared NO!!!! Put that away and cover it up, they had no clue it was not legal to have beer in the boat, I had not thought about saying anything to them before hand as its not something I do anytime so its just not an issue.

This is by far the better plan. I don't see the attraction to the famous state cabins when you have modern hotels and restaurants just a couple of miles away from the lake. Certainly not worth reserving five months in advance.

This will be our first time at the state park, we will see how it goes. I like how close they are to the lake.
