    Default Minnows or gold ???

Wow. I just bought minnows at the SuperStop on Hwy 7 just off the I40 exit ramp and they are proud of them...$2.95 per dozen or $10.95 for a half pound.... I got a half pound knowing that I plan to fish the next couple of days.. The sack looked pretty empty so i counted the minnows and I had 46 minnows... Normally a half pound at Andrews in Plainview will be 5 to 6 dozen minnows.. Better stock up before you come to fish Dardanelle...this may make a jig fisherman out of me !!!!

I fished the strip pits for 3 hours and only got one 9 inch crappie. I guess I should have spent my lunch money at Long John Silvers ....

Stopped there once in my life.

Won't ever again. Bates or Toad Suck is only places I go.

New owner's I noticed they were shorting me ask them if they weighed them he said they didn't have a way to weigh them he told me when you ask for a half pound they give you 60 minnows. I told him you might want to start counting them because the last couple of times you gave me about half that. It's time to find a another place to get minnows. And the price went up about five bucks!

Yep Fosh...I had 6 pounds in my 55 gallon aquarium for nearly 8 weeks just waitin on the weather to break. I might lose a couple or 3 a day, but overall they were doin great. Then, the whole lot of over 1000 minnows died in one day and I still don't know why..But, you can buy a 6 pound bag of # 6 minnows at Anderson Minnow farm in Lonoke for $28.00 and they bag them up and make it fine for several hours. I will be stocking back up soon. They claim 6 pounds- minimum you can buy- is about 1048 # 6 minnows. .. I really think I probably had more like 1500 the last bag I got.

At the local Russellville minnow prices, I will have to get a 55 gallon barrel and aireator pump in addition to my aquarium just to keep them alive.. If a half pound of minnows is 5 dozen that means 6 pounds is 60 dozen. At $3.00 per dozen, that is is equal to $180.00 bucks for what you can buy for $28.00 at Lonoke.. Time for a road trip and another minnow tank !!!

If being retired was not so time consuming, I might have to start selling minnows. I know I would have a good "closet" customer in Mr. Nimrod when I go to Carter Cove in Plainview !!

That's a good ideal I've been thinking about making a tank for leftovers I hate pouring them out. What kind of aerator do you use?

Yes, I think their "new" half pound includes all the water they put in the bag !! Of the 46 minnows in my half pound today, 5 of them were dead before I got out of the store. I know the kid running the cash register doesn't have anything to do with it, but I will not buy there unless I have no other option...Don't those Southern Pro jigs catch fish sometimes? I sure like my Minner Critters tipped with a minnow...........

I got a 55 gallon aquarium , stand, filters, aireator pump, chemicals, etc of the local "tradio" show for $60.00 bucks used. It kept 6 pounds alive for 8 weeks. You can buy 55 gallon plastic barrels from a guy on hwy 7 just as you enter Dover for $15.00.. I think I will get one of those and split a 6 pound bag between that and my aquarium and see if they do better. There is a post on CC.com about how to make a tank with a landscape pump and PVC pipe with polyester fiber for the filter by putting it in a 55 gallon barrel. Be sure to let you house hold water set for a couple of days to de-chlorinate before putting minnows in it or they will die immediatly.
