Default Good day on the ice

But it cannot warm up fast enough! We bagged 30 fat gills today and hope to go early in morning. With any luck the ice will be rotten by afternoon and ice season will be over.

We fished the Mounds Beach out on the main lake at Brookville yesterday. The ice was still 8in on the main lake with a little bit of slush. Lots of shad swimming past our holes. We were hoping for walleye but managed to only catch a dozen or so channels on jig and night crawlers. If we get rain with the warm temps the ice may be gone by next weekend, HOPEFULLY!!!

I always look forward to the ice leaving myself. But it aint for fishing. It means I am one step closer to tromping through the woods lucking for mushrooms.
