    Default lil nasty issue

I was hoping for the best with these jighooks, but the 2000 I just received are nowhere near as sharp as the first 1000 I had bought a while back, I have the size 4 black chrome and the ones I just receives have shorter points, larger barbs and are only half as sharp as the first ones I bought, this explains why some people are touting their sharpness while others are saying not so. I know I have raved about them and probably caused a bunch of people to get them, I am sorry to those people, I will be returning this batch, redear

This is the first time I have heard about this issue with them. Please let me know what happens. I was just about to start keeping a full line of them, like I do with the Matzuo, Lite Wire, and Aberdean style hooks. If they are not going to be a good "Made in the U.S.A. alternative to the Matzuos. I will probably only keep a hand full in stock or may even make them an "order as needed" hook, similar to what I do for the high end Bass hooks that we use on the football heads and some of the other bass baits that we make.

I was impressed like you by their quality control. I think the first thousand that I went through, I found less than 10 defects. That doesn't do anyone any good if the hooks are to dull to catch a fish. LOL

I am like you BoBo. First 1000 black chrome I had about 5 defective hooks but I got over 1100 hooks in a 1000 order so they more than made up for defects. Poured about 800 of second batch which are the Gold. Not one defect so far. Have not found one dull hook. Found them to be as sharp or sharper than the Matzuo. Be real interesting to find out what happened. Sounds like a machine malfunction of some kind. Hopefully they take care of Redear and get the problem fixed. It sure is nice to have something made in US that works.

I purchased 1000 of the bronze and 1000 of the blk nickel 2 0r 3 months ago so far all are sharp. I use them in demo's showing people by just setting them on my finger I'm stuck...no issues I hope this is not the start of an issue I said I would never use matzua again

I have sizes in the black chrome from 4 down to 10, combined about 3000 hooks and have found maybe 6 or seven defective ones. Every one that I have handled are ugly sharp. I think Cray nailed it with a machine problem.

Captain hooks really took care of me on this guys, I sent an email explaining the problem and within a day I was notified that I had matzuos on the way to me, and to send the others back. you can't expect any more than that in my mind. yeah I had read where some people were reporting that theirs weren't near as sharp at the matzuos, and I couldn't understand that because my first 1000 were great, but I guess it all depends on the batch. the second batch would catch a fish but you would have had to set the hook, with the matzuos all I do is start reeling, thats a big difference in my mind.

My first batch of 1000 were red colored. I just received another 1000 but this time I ordered black. I will say that for whatever reason, the black ones seem to be way sharper than the red!

Cray, you must be getting my hooks!!! Last three orders have all been short by about 20 or 30 hooks.
