You can find a few fish scattered in the coves, but the bulk of the fish I am marking are still in the channel 20-25 ft deep.

My wife and I are going to Sinclair tomorrow. We plan to try behind Optimist Island unless someone gives a good report about somewhere else.
We longlined the west side of Optimist Island in 10-20 FOW. The water wasn't as muddy as I expected but there was a lot of floating trash. The temperature was 48 when we started, and almost got to 60 before cooling back down.
My wife used 1/16oz. HalFlies and caught the most fish and the biggest fish on dark colors. I used 3/32 heads and curly tails with the darker colors producing best.
We had our best day ever, culled a bunch of dinks, and put 51 over 8 inches in the cooler. The biggest was about 1 & 1/4 lbs. and we had around ten over a pound.
Momma's happy and y'all know the rest of that line.
Good day. Congrats
Great day fishing Stickburner.
Go to Oconee. Put in at US Forest Swords launch. Follow the boats. Catch big crappie.![]()
Addendum to Bigfishheads comment, I mean follow right behind a boat, you will lose a lower unit quick up there if you are not familiar with this place. Under water stump fields everywhere. Be careful!
