Not yet, but I was giving my granddaughter's horse's tail a serious look last saturday while I was helping her saddle him. Ruled it out as it seemed to big and stiff for a jig. My son raised game fowl and they have some pretty feathers, may have to go by when he's at work and pull a few from each rooster, he'll never know.

The only dog hair I have for tying has ended up making some of the fly tying guys staying away from it because of questions about where it came from and how these dogs were kept or killed?? I don't know anything about that part and not positive all of it sold is really what it says it is. It's called Tempel Dog and the hair I have is awesome looking stuff, but even though I have had mine for over 3 years, I still have not tied even one jig yet, but I will soon!

Hey you have nothing to loose by trying it and I feel sure the dog wouldn't care if you took just a little unless you take it all of it at some place, LOL! I have some fur hats and some of it is beautiful long silver and black hair that I do really want to try. A few of the hats would be good for dubbing, but some have some great hair including one that is Red Fox and the only one I have tied any from, but that hat was coming apart when I got it. A customer from CDC gave them to me because he had them for years and never used any and sice I got them I mostly have just looked at them wanting to do something. If my memory serves me right one is a slight Yellow tint and think it may be long rabbit, but not sure about any of it really! I have even sent guys pictures and seems they didn't agree either except on a few.

some fly guys even think they are substituting Arctic Fox for Temple Dog, but the stuff I have, pretty sure it's not Arctic Fox because I have a lot of it and it doesn't look like this stuff so mine is probably real. At least I hope it is because it expensive stuff!
