A trick i learned yrs ago....put bees wax on the male end of all the joints, it will keep them from sticking, and will also keep them from comeing apart on casting rods.

WD 40 or you can use a pair of pliers close to the joint and twist it.

Mark 1:17 ...I will make you fishers of men
I had a rod stuck for 2 years and it really ticked me off. I tried the behind the knees, wd-40, packing the section in ice, hair dryer etc. could not get it apart. Was going to meet a friend for a fishing trip, the wife was driving and it was her car and she said no way, you take that apart! She of course said BS it comes apart...take it apart. I tried just to satisfy her demand. She said let me see... did not work,, well my wife is as stubborn as I am and she took an ice cube to the insertable (Small) side 5 minutes later she had it apart.
I never thought of doing just one side.....

never under estimate a woman scorned!!!!!!!!!! lol
Glad you got it apart! My dad used to rub the male end of the rod on his nose before he put the pieces together. Sure would be nice to watch him do that again now!
I have opposite problem.... sections can fly apart after a vigorous casting session. So far have been lucky that no fish has hit with top half of pole laying in the water!!![]()
